- Approved applicants will receive an email inviting them to choose a date to complete both the written exam and the functional fitness test.
- You only need to attend one of the three listed testing days. On testing day, you will take the written exam in the morning, which will be scored immediately. Should you pass the written exam, you will then complete the Functional Fitness Test.
- The written test will cover basic knowledge and essential skills. Applicants are not expected to have prior knowledge of police training, tactics, or criminal law.
- A study guide is provided through email by the IMPD Human Resources Department about two weeks before the scheduled exam.
- No additional study materials, other than what is provided, are needed for the written exam, but it’s recommended that you focus on improving your physical fitness for the Functional Fitness Test.
- The Functional Fitness Test entrance standard time is 4:08, and the exit standard time is 3:58.
