WHERE YOU'LL TRAIN
Located just outside IMPD’s Training Academy, Hershyville serves as a unique, immersive training environment for recruits. The village, named in honor of Officer Hershberger, who envisioned the concept that features over two dozen structures, such as:
- Mock apartments
- Businesses
- Restaurants
- And many other common facilities found in a neighborhood
During training exercises, recruits interact with role players, responding to simulated 911 calls. With guidance from training academy instructors, recruits practice making decisions and taking action under pressure. Instructors closely observe their performance, providing real-time feedback and coaching to build their skills and confidence.
